In shadows playing, in faces cut off, in legs without torso, the exhausting solitude of the protagonists gets transformed into an artificial aesthetic that forgets the humanity of the subjects by turning into snapshot sof a present time that never turns into existence and life.
This project is inspired by three Manhattan women seeking forthe Big Dream, Anne, Neely and Jennifer, that find only loneliness and self-destruction.Escaped from the boredom of the US suburbs and victims of themselves as well as of an exasperated and merciless modernity, the protagonists of “Valley of the Dolls” by Jaqueline Susann are a concentration of hopes, naivety and hunger for success.Kept afloat by short, intense and superficial loves, they will find refuge in the so-called “dolls”, pills of multicolor psychotropic drugs in their gray and distant life. The mental clarity of the author, expressed in a frank, cold and analytical prose, translates into a photographic project where the tones of red, gold and black are marking the sharp contrast of a false life that assumes the features of a glossy and impersonal magazine.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Born in 1983 in Turin. I’m an art director and I love photography. The moment I decided that I wanted to capture the reality is when I saw a documentary from Annie Leibovitz, and since then my hunger for photography has kept growing day by day.
I started photographing objects and things, but I understand that you can create greater empathy with those who looks at a picture, when you are in front of a human being in his/her extravagance, his/her defects and peculiarities. I love black and white. I love the synthesis of a picture. In my photographs I try to mix these elements as much as possible, to create something that can excite the viewer.
In 2015 I received an honorable mention in the IPA (International photography awards). Category: People-Children.
In 2016 I received an honorable mention in the MIFA (Moscow international foto awards). Category: People-Portrait. Project: SUNDAY BEST
In 2016 I received two honorable mention in the FAPA (Fine art photography awards). Category: Street photography. Project 1: The playground of silence. Project 2: The only one on the road.
“Enduring time” has been my first solo exhibition in Genoa, on november 2015.
