I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Although, surfing was my passion for many years, photography had a substantial impact in defining who I was. In 1985, I travelled to South Africa where I lived for a year and where I bought my first camera. I used it to document my surfing trips and photograph the people I met.
After a period travelling in SE Asia, photographing and searching for the perfect wave, I arrived in Adelaide, Australia, where I decided to pursue a career in photography.
For many years I studied, worked and breathed photography.
In 1993, I moved to the Gold Coast, again in pursuit of great waves. After three years, and holding a SCUBA diving instructor qualification, I moved to Cairns where I lived for eight years and met my partner, Sandra. We moved to Brisbane in 2005, where we now work and try to do the things we are passionate about.
At this point, a re-emerging fascination for photography (and the new technology) takes me to a new stage where I attempt to create images that in a simple and tasteful manner represent who we are and the world we live in.
