A SEA OF TIME
We live in a hectic world and there’s almost no time left to relax and to enjoy life. But deep inside, everyone of us needs a sea of time. I try to escape from daily rat race by making photos. And there is no better location for me to photograph than at the coast. I was born in Knokke, Belgium and I lived almost a decade near the sea. And although I left the neighbourhood years ago, the water keeps pulling me back. On the beach, I feel free from the racket and completely at ease.
With ‘A sea of time’ I refer on the one had to what the sea offers to me and to what I try to offer to the viewer of my photos. I don’t photograph any topographic landscapes, but I show the viewer a glimpse of my inner world. A world in which I share my photographical impressions of loneliness, space and eternity. I want to touch the viewer with atmosphere and mood, and I want to give him an oasis to relax or to meditate for a while.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
My love for photography was born when I first saw the photos of Ansel Adams some 15 years ago. I started to collect his photos and fancied about doing the same one day. To be able to do so, I started to study Photography in evening classes. First the more technical side in a few workshops, and then I enrolled for Fine Art Photography at the academy (5 years in Leuven and 2 years in Lier). I’m about to graduate in June 2015. For my graduation project, I travelled during my holidays from 2013-2015 along the Dutch, Belgian, French and Spanish coasts.
