This is Mt. Schäfler in the Alpstein region, located only 70km away from my hometown.
I started my hike in Wasserauen, AI, Switzerland. From there I went to the Seealpsee, Ebenalp and finally arriving at mount Schäfler 1924m after 3 hours.
On top of the mountain I was blessed with a truly stunning view. The lake Seealpsee on the left was covered with a thick layer of fog, which couldn't move due to the surrounding mountains. The fog on the right side moved quite fast which rapidly changing conditions. 20 Minutes before sunset the fog layer covered mount Schäfler. Luckily for sunset the fog cleared up.
After overall 10 hours I returned at 2 am at my starting point. In the end a perfect trip.
