This is a photograph of the organic forms that arose from color in a plate of milk with a dispersant. I had nothing to do with the imagery: I simply waited for forms that I liked and shot them using an iPhone and Ollo-clip. I sometimes adjust color or exposure but trust in the forms that I like. They tend to be soft from the inability to focus sharply, but I often prefer the resultant texture. I title my works based on what I see in the imagery.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
I have been a painter-printmaker since 1975 but a photographer since 2010 when I combined photography with an abstract chemical reaction of color in a viscous solution (having photographs of representational subjects as well). My paintings and prints have been exhibited and have won a number of awards across the country and are now in public and private collections (including Europe). A few of my photos are now in private collections as well as my watercolor paintings—also a recently adopted medium.
I have sequentially directed and curated two galleries In New Haven, CT from 1981 to 1993. During that time I founded Women in the Arts which established a month-long celebration of a variety of arts during March to highlight International Women’s Day (3/8). These annual events continued for nine years.
My education consists of a BA in Fine Art from Connecticut College in New London and a MA in Art from Wesleyan University. I am married with two daughters and two granddaughters.
