This Series was shown at my Pre-degree show in February. While researching I came across the painting method known as Fumage, I how could I translate that into a photography context. As I primarily work in analogue film, the idea came to me to burn a blank roll of film, in turn creating an image without the use of a camera. I let the naked flame, twist and turn, contort and smoulder the roll of film, creating an image that cannot be recreated in a similar likeness, that roll of film became unique.
