Mel Karch was born and raised in Germany and studied art and graphic design in Paris.
In 2002 Mel moved to Paris to assist internationally reknown photographers such as Annie Leibovitz and Mark Seliger bevor beginning her own career in fashion photography in 2004.
After winning the 2004 Fuji Prize for Young Photographers in Paris, followed by a prize of the Canon Award in Germany, she gained exposure with the success of several exhibitions of her private work.
Mels spirit of adventure and travel has taken her to spectacular locations around the world on assignment for publications such as The New York Tmes, Marie Claire Italy, Vogue Nippon, Vogue US, D la Repubblica, Common and Sense, Stern, Lufthansa, Panasonic, Nike, S. Oliver and Kenzo.
She lives with her husband and daughter between Paris and New York.
