I am a Portland based freelance photographer, designer and artist. I would best describe my style as emotional, dark, and salient with a continued inspiration from and emphasis on classic eras in regards to style, process, and subject matter.
My current work contemplates mortality, mythology and the magic of the unknown through pinhole photography.
My interest in organic materials, occult symbolism, vanitas and momento-mori themes create a dynamic emotion that is expressed through my use of dramatic lighting, choice of composition, dark palette and painterly process.
I use photography as a means of self-exploration. I capture images and make them my history. In my work i identify and express hidden qualities of my character, to better understand my reality, and to better express my interpretation of what is history, memory, thought, feeling, place, time, life, death, or real.
