This series was about finding the most honest way of explaining a scene. With digital photography we continually lie about what really happened at the scene so i did not what to digitally manipulate the photograph.
This image is A0 Landscape printed on thick fine art paper. The portrait element of it is acrylic painting.
I find it import for when thinking about 'fine art photography' the artist them self has to be present. I painted, what was on my mind and i photographed what my eye saw. the woman was an ex lover who loved the snow and a year on when i came to this frozen waterfall i thought the whole mind and visual very symbolic. I felt that within photography the human error is never present so combining it with paint let me have the touch on my image that i wanted to show.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Studied BA Photography at Falmouth University focusing on the experimental side of photography. My background is painting which lead myself to paint ontop of my photographs which I have been running with for a while.
I shoot completely in Analogue scanning the negatives in when i can. I'm interested by the pockets of detail which most of us would walk by, then i blow the image large and we can see the beauty of it.
my offical website is - williamgrob.com (but like all artist websites its not up to date like unlike my flickr)
