AUTHOR
Whilst studying photography at both Highschool and University, Cari became fascinated with quantum physics and the concept of time and mortality, and began playing around with these concepts in her photography in staged set-ups. After leaving school, Cari maintained this fascination with time and mortality, yet took a more journalistic and un-staged approach to capturing these themes, often turning her camera to unsuspecting strangers or people she met on her many travels. Her exhibition ‘Fragments’ in 2014 showcased some of these portraits from her travels. In 2014 Cari also attended a Photography retreat in Hawaii hosted by well-known artist Brooke Shaden, and as a result delved back into the rather unfamiliar world of staged set-ups, a result of which her tarot recreations series ‘Arcana (the Secrets)’ was born which has allowed her to weave her spirituality into her art.
Cari’s image ‘Isolation’ won Judges Choice Award at the 2010 Franklin Art Festival.
