Street Photography nominee

People display a strange behavior when confronted by the camera, working to hide their individual personalities from the discovery of the photographer. With the purpose of avoiding this situation, I have created images describing the backs of people. Capturing more and more photos that record their movement and gesture, I find the sequence that I created reveals a new way to explore and interpret human activities. The photographs describe a truer account of human nature, with the people appearing unaffected by the interruption of the camera. I have infinite faith in what Ansel Adams has said: “ I believe in people and in the simple aspects of human life, and in the relation of man to nature.” These simple aspects can only be presented by removing the interruption brought on by the camera, revealing the nature of people free of the camera’s influence.
