The photo is of the United States Air Force Memorial. It is a large structure that consists of three steel spires coming up from the ground, going up to 270 feet into the air. The spires are curved and meant to resemble the contrails of jets soaring into the sky to perform a bomb burst maneuver.
Due to the size, the memorial is very visible from many miles away and a familiar sight to local residents. I wanted to portray the memorial in a different light and provide a visual of it that most are not used to. I shot the structure to purposefully distort the scale of the spires and composed the memorial to resemble a crown, so that the memorial is also seen as a symbol of air superiority.
