Conceptual nominee

This photographic series examines the insecurities that women face on a daily basis but attempt to hide. It is a reaction to witnessing a loved one struggle with their appearance on a daily basis to the point of attempting suicide. The smears of makeup against these cloths act as a metaphor for the internal struggle with body image that many face on a daily basis. Placing the rags back over the figure represents the ritual of applying makeup that only temporarily covers insecurities.
