Soft Cell Mutations. (Series)
DESCRIPTION
This series explore mutations, being a digital-analog-digital loop it was not done with digital overlay but with a Kodak slide projector, I used it to lit the model and it brings enough light allow the shoot. I am very intrigued by what happens to art when it explores the aesthetics of digital while keeping a faithful attitude towards classic forms of fine art. The slides where printed with digital paintings made with the computer, I wanted the colors to be a reminder of silk and high fashion make-up, the model would be like wearing a dress made of light.
AUTHOR
It started with an accident, and a point of view. A friend gave me a camera while I was recovering from a back injury, the rehabilitation walks turned into photographic strolls, a great motivation to discover again the once too familiar streets
The point of view came while lying on the grass, looking through the viewfinder. Surrounded by gentle giants, my friends displaying beauty and strength and the sky a stained glass, leafs dancing against the light.
I believe you can paint with a camera, there is a “synthetic” quality in the lens art. I don't aim at the “perfect shot”, instead I learnt to rave on the borderline of visibility.
