Night Photography nominee

Early on a frigid morning this past winter outside of Palmer, Alaska, after many hours of waiting for the aurora with little to show for it, this form took shape. To me it is a sign that hope and beauty can be found in the midst of frozen desolation. I dedicate this photo to the memory of Beverly Walters, mother of my most beloved friend, Laura.
