Night Photography nominee

Golitsyn's Grotto - largest natural cave hollowed out by the sea waves in Koba-Kaya Mountain (Cave Mountain). The height of Golitsyn's Grotto are about 25-30 meters. In the Middle Ages it was the Christian cave monastery. Up until the XIX century on one of its walls there were remnants of paintings. Later there was a wine storage of Lev Golitsyn champagne.

My name is Evgeny Zaitsev. I'm a photographer, an artist from Russia. I was always attracted by a combination of modern technology and the visual art. That's why I began to engage in digital photography, especially astrolandscape. To me, astrophotography is a special type of photography. It's a combination of art, science, and modern technologies, all this reflects the spirit of the XXI century. Despite the fact that night photography has long been practiced, photographer’s abilities and technical skills are still being strained to the limit. The bad thing is that we cannot see very well in the dark, and another one is that camera capabilities are limited. But we know the night is not full of monsters and horrors, it’s beautiful. And I try to convey all beauty of the night landscape in my photos.
