Wildlife / Animals nominee

Canadian lynxes are largely secretive and primarily nocturnal animals, although they may be active at any time of the day. They shelter in areas of dense forest, tend to hunt in areas with deeper snow cover or at higher altitudes, and tend to stay within 100 yards of the treeline. They are normally solitary, but, at times, small groups may be observed travelling together. We happened upon this female who had been hunting and was now resting under a tree before searching for new prey.

Sue dedicates much of her time photographing wild horses & horses throughout the world, and bringing attention to the plight of wild horses in North America. Sue has a deep passion for photographing birds of prey, wildlife, nature and people. Sue’s passion is to capture the beauty and grace of nature, and all that lives and thrives in it.
