Conceptual nominee

These series are the part of my big concept to transform people faces and bodies with different face-arts, textures and accessories to achieve the effect of solid shape or optical illusion. In these works me and my team used real flowers, chains, paper, threads for decoration with mix of different make-up techniques and photography skills.

Born in 1982, Moscow based photographer. Started with photography in 2008, but the first experiments with art images began in 2012 after big start of Weird Beauty series. The second project 2D or not 2D was made in 2013 and was very successful as well. 2D or not 2D series were included in Designcollector’s top-10 of Russian projects in 2013. This time I continue to work with people transforming them in different shapes and optical illusions to create something new in portrait photography.

The works featured in world mass media including USA Today, CNN, Fox Tv, NBC News, SBS (Australia), Scientific American MIND, Talk (Belgium), 30 degrees (Switzerland), Life (China), Professional Photographer, Huffington Post, The Daily Mail, Wired, Holland Herald, Stern, 20 minutos, Phlearn.com and many others. The work Silhouette from Weird Beauty series featured in the book Illusion Confusion: The Wonderful World of Optical Deception by famous publishing house Thames & Hudson (London).
