1 Minute of #Love

With more than 696 million posts (July 2015) and an average amount of 27,2 posted pictures per second #love is the most used hashtag on Instagram. Within this project I appropriated all photos which got tagged with #love in one single minute. The outcome is one big artwork which consists of 1632 pictures. Cute pets, snapshots of babies, memories of vacations, self portraits and all different kind of goods are going hand in hand with porn photography, glorification of violence and semi naked teenagers. This is how love can be displayed in one irrevocable minute of time.

Doris Himmelbauer is an Austrian photographer currently based in London. After five years of professional practice she started her MA in Fine Art Photography at Kingston University, where she graduated in 2015. Himmelbauer has launched her first publication in the Asylum Chapel in Peckham, followed by several exhibitions in and around London. Dealing with digital photography and appropriation art her current work is about copyright, authorship and photography in the age of social media platforms.
