This series explores the relationship between human and natural forms, and examines the way that form determines space.
Through my use of dramatic lighting, evocative texture, and a dark palette, I reference nature's recycling of shape and the similarities between organic form and celestial bodies. My choice of organic materials derives from my interest in vanitas and memento-mori themes. Stylistically, this series was inspired by the work of Edward Weston.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
I am a Portland based fine art photographer, designer and artist. My style is emotional, dark, and emphatic, drawing continued inspiration from modern and classical eras in regards to style, process, and subject matter.
I use photography as a means of exploration. I capture images and gather them as scattered flickers, single moments that are part of the collective history I am constructing. In my work, I identify and express hidden qualities of my own character, to better understand reality and my perception of it. These stolen moments give physical form to my interpretation of history, memory, thought, feeling, place, and time.
