A landscape covered in snow is one of the best places to find oneself and make peace with one's past, present and future. That's why the title I gave to this series, Catharsis - Purification.
The removal of almost all the things we normally see in a scene and that remind us about life as it is, which is what the snow hides in a scene, suddenly brings to surface the spirit of the place, purified of everything, showing its primordial state and this has an extremely powerful effect on our spirit and soul, purifying and liberating them.
What I aim with this series is to find a way of showing how solitude in front of the immensity of nature is able to help one get in touch with the inner self. The lone trees in my images are not lonely trees but trees facing themselves and having a long and in depth conversation with their own conscience, while going through this process of purification of the soul and mind, through catharsis.
