When Will I See You Again (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Displacement, suspension and the impossible: are these situations one stumbles upon or consciously constructs? Naturally present or purposely placed? I returned to where I grew up to draw on narratives from living in a small farming community. These performative sculptures and situations become a personified look of seclusion, fragility, and transformation. Integrating repurposed materials into organic surroundings I create tension between the natural and the manufactured as well as the imaginary and reality. Each piece is photographic as well as documentation of sculpture and performance. The work speaks of being human both spiritually and physically. Each object reveals itself through the viewer’s own truth of observation. By suspending reality, the work never provides resolution for each situation allowing the viewer to question their own reality when observing this work using imagination to reconstruct the spectacle, ritual, and paradox which is collapsed into a decisive moment.
