Shawna Tavsky is a Canadian photographer & visual artist living in Mexico City. In 2010 she co-founded Casa de Artes y Circo Contemporáneo A.C. a non-profit artistic company, production house, and cultural center focused on contemporary circus and performance arts education, where she continues to dedicate much of her time to general direction and development of the project. Her career has focused on visual communicaton and creative endeavours such as editorial and commercial photography, graphic and web design, creative direction, project development, artistic advising and art film direction.
In 2012 she returned to the stage as an interpreter, as well as video artist, artistic adviser and producer in the dance theater productions Errante and En Blanco. She is currently involved in various independent and collaborative artistic projects in different stages of development, all related to video, photography and/or performance arts.
Her videos have been selected by festivals internationally. Pintado de Tiempo placed second in Mexico’s national video dance festival Agite y Sirva. Past editorial photography took her to various locations around the world, and her photos have been published in a variety of online and print publications.
