Photojournalism nominee

Pictures from the former Provvidenza ENEL village (Abruzzo, central Italy). Built by ENEL, the italian main electricity producer and vendor, for workers of a powerhouse in the area, was abandoned around 1999, mainly due to progressive automation of the plant. Despite its smallness, the village had a school, a church and a medical device. Currently there are some projects to renovate the buildings, but this village, although located in the Gran Sasso - Laga National Park, a wonderful mountain area, is still abandoned.
