Abstract nominee

"Aspen" is an abstract rendition of a stand of aspen saplings somewhere in the Grand Teton National Park. Slow shutter speed and vertical blur were used to render this abstract image evoking the paintings of the impressionist style, Renoir, in particular.

After more than 30 years as a sculptor my artistic curiosity put a digital camera in my hands. Today, pixels light and shadows are the tools of my chosen media. Of the many genres of photography I have chosen Landscape as my primary target with Street and Travel a close second. It is not surprising that forms, volumes, light and texture are the guiding principles of my compositions. I tend to favor tightly arranged elements in my photographs, sometimes to the point of abstraction. Although relatively new to this art, I intent to carve my own niche in the competitive and forever evolving world of digital image making.
