Vision (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Vision was a personal investigation into how a photographer's eyesight can affect their practice. By using abstract methods, I explored the ways in which the world could be represented in a way that wasn't 'technically perfect' but still something beautiful and interesting. The inspiration for the shape and style of my images came from when I went to get an eye test as part of my research. I found the digital retinal photography fascinating, and a piece of art in itself, so I decided to present the images in a similar way to draw reference back to the theme of vision. The images were shot on film and made through many stages in the colour darkroom; the bright colours were made through experimenting with the filters, the border was made by using a circular piece of perspex to cover the centre of the image and the marks were made through stages of dodging or fogging.
