Car, Night and Speed (Series)
DESCRIPTION
For a while now every time I have been a passenger in a moving car I have wanted try to capture the movement and speed of travelling through the countryside out of a car window. I am lucky to live in a beautiful part of England, at the edge of the New Forest, where there are lots of trees, winding roads and roadside foliage. At night the images seemed more atmospheric and emphasised the movement of the travelling car. I love the heavy contrast of light and dark shapes, blending images with the feel of speed. I hope that when they are viewed people will feel the sense of continuous movement and appreciate the artistry of the enigmatic shapes and light blending into exciting abstract images. For this series I was also inspired by J M W Turners painting Rain, Steam and Speed. I can't help it but everything I see and anywhere I go I see a photograph idea/concept. Nothing is off limits, I just love to experiment and push myself into new directions. I am forever learning.
