Buje (Series)
DESCRIPTION
These images are inspired by the town of Buje, in the Istria region of Croatia. More than 50 years ago, Buje used to be in Italy. The towers of San Servolo and Madonna della Misericordia are the symbols of the town. The legend says that in 1497, Paolo Racizza dreamt about the holy Mary. The morning after, he sold all his properties and went to Venice to buy a statute of the holy Mary and brought it back to Buje. The second image shows the Italian school, which was used when Buje was on the Italian territory.
