I'm Not Thinking of You Anymore (Series)
DESCRIPTION
I'm Not Thinking of You Anymore is an ongoing series based on daydreams, passing thoughts, and brief visions that pass through my head throughout my life. I exist in a technicolor world and adore texture, pattern, layers, and pop. In this world of paper and textiles I am free to express myself in any way I feel like. The photographs with a male figure are all self portraits, an area of photography I have come back to time and time again ever since picking up a camera. I do not use a remote trigger, self timer only, giving me 10 seconds to press the shutter, sprint to set, and arrange myself. This allows for a truly spontaneous and unforeseeable performance. When using a model I still seek this sort of feeling and am very involved in the arrangement and motions of my subject, often jumping in to join for the photographs. I seek to find the odd moments when the body doesn't quite make sense, hiding and revealing certain elements and trying to find an anonymity that is still relatable and pushes the viewer to be curious.
