How many times have you asked yourself: ‘Who am I?’ and looked back at the society in the attempt to answer this question? It is not surprising since it is hard to look at a human separately from the society. A human like a mechanism plays a role of a small part in a huge system under the name of society, comprehensiveness of which puts us in its arms from the moment of our birth and doesn’t release its grip till our last breath. The complete release from it can be referred to fiction. Even Fromm named the human’s tendency to connect oneself with someone or something in order to have power which was lost by ‘individual I’ – the attempt to escape from freedom.
Modern society preaches the idea of equality entirely deprived from identity. Society is in high need of integral obedient structures that are necessary for creation of a huge well-functioning system that works for “the global benefit”. Everyone should obey the rules with a distinct thought that he is acting only at his/hers true desires and dreams. A human being as individual interests society regretfully at minimal degree.
