Siren of the Sheets (Single)
DESCRIPTION
She came to me after her heart had been broken. Reached out during one of our classes, "hey, I heard you like to take pictures of people." I nodded my head reluctantly. "I feel unlike myself. Wounded and hideous. I need to see myself again," she said. The absurdity in the statement from such a beautiful person threw me off guard. "Yeah, come over we'll take some photos and listen to music." We took some photos that afternoon with the props I had lying around my house. An old chair, a bed sheet with late night snack stains draped around her like a ball gown, and put a necklace on her that cascaded down her backline. I showed her the photos and her eyes lit up. "That's me?" She saw herself from behind a viewfinder, the same self that had been there all along. Sometimes a different lens is all it takes.
