'All that Glisters is not Gold'
This series is based around the popular expression from a line in William Shakespeare's play 'The Merchant of Venice', which employs the word "glisters," a 17th-century synonym for "glitters."
My vision with these images was to display figures in a strong gilded form but also appearing vulnerable.
I wanted to portray my feelings of increasing concern with social media and the identities or be it possible false identities we see from the outside looking in.
Life has become so much about validation and we see individuals 'gilding' their lives so they appear to others to be what they think is'perfect'
"All that glisters is not gold; Often have you heard that told: Many a man his life has sold, But my outside to behold: Gilded tombs do worms enfold, Had you been as wise as bold, Your limbs, in judgement old, Your answer had not been in 'scroll'd, Fare you well: your suit is cold. 'Cold, indeed, and labour lost: Then, farewell, heat and welcome frost!"

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
My images are mostly created to stand on their own as objects of contemplation and visual interest, each image always contains a commentary, usually pertaining mostly to the feminine and or emotion. I look at women as beautiful and intricate beings who become the women they are, usually through the emotional experiences they go through in their lives. The effects of my images will vary depending upon the interest and experiences a viewer brings to the image. My belief, is that we are all on a journey in this life, constantly evolving, sometimes conscious sometimes not, but hopefully always learning from one emotional experience to the next, in turn giving us the emotional strength to see us through to the next part of our journey.
