Fashion in the Landscape (Series)
DESCRIPTION
This is an ongoing project, that I will hopefully turn in to a book once it is complete. It displays a series of self-portraits set amongst beautiful landscapes. The images are a combination of both fashion and landscape photography. The hidden face conceals the emotions and identity of the subject, which allows the landscapes and outfits to create the mood of the image. The locations chosen remain almost completely untouched. These natural landscapes create a contrast with the manmade outfits. Other locations I hope to add include Iceland, America (specifically Utah & Oregon area), New Zealand and Vietnam.
AUTHOR
Bex graduated from the University of Bolton in 2016, where she received a First Class BA Honours degree in Photography. Throughout the course she has concentrated mainly on landscape, fashion on location, macro and abstract photography. She has developed a real interest in these areas and hopes to expand on them in future. A lot of her landscape work to date has been taken in the UK (mainly Derbyshire, Snowdonia, the Lake District and Scotland) but she has also experienced several photo shoots in Mallorca. She is keen on travel and hopes to explore many other beautiful parts of the world and to capture them in her own distinctive style.
Her abstract work has focused on exploring patterns, lines and colour to very great effect. She has concentrated in particular on microscope photography and explorations of scale; the resulting images are not only interesting but real works of art.
She shoots mostly with a Nikon DSLR, however she also has experience with SLR film cameras (processing and developing the photographs herself) and 5 by 4 cameras both with film and a digital Phase One back.
