Landscape nominee

It is five years since I visited the wild an beautiful Snowdonia in my native Wales, the country of my birth and raising. I have recently come back to photography after a long lay off and the two things have come together in this series of images I took on 7th and 8th Jan 2017. The weather was cold and crisp and the landscape is wild and rugged. You have to work hard to really get into the landscape and I started the shoot on day 2 before sunrise and I walked until sundown. I am hoping that the results show an intimacy with this cold, empty and quite lonely place.

Photo exhibition 'the family of men', at the Watershed Gallery, Bristol, UK. 1984. Nothing since. However, as a graphic designer I have produced countless photographic images for printed items from information brochures to marketing collateral of all kinds.
