Night Photography nominee

In late November, the first snowstorm hit Helsinki. Mannerheimintie is usually the busiest street in the city, but now there are only a few desperate souls trying hurry to the warmth of their homes. Even the lights seem rather dim, because the is so much snow in the air.

I am a hobbyist photographer. Earlier I used to photograph a lot, but when the kids were small there was a break for several years. I restarted the hobby about two years ago, and this time it seems to be more serious than earlier. My favorites are landscape, architecture and street photography. Lookimg back my pictures, I find a common theme to be a documentation of my environment and everyday events. Somehow they look more beatiful on a photograph than they really were. This is kind of a way to create good memories.
