Am Schanzengraben (Series)
DESCRIPTION
In the very first moment I saw the quality of the house as a stage. A purely documentary work on the reconstruction of the old Credit Suisse canteen in to a modern and exclusive apartment building was too little to me. The high rooms with the bare concrete walls, the view through the floor to ceiling steel frame windows to the centre of Zurich provided the ideal background for a different kind of company profile. For the realization of my pictures I quickly got to the executive architects practice of Kalfopoulos Architects. In the dust of the construction site, in a looser, as intense as impressive atmosphere I gave everyone the scope for personal development. From charismatic leader via the experienced site managers and architects to the young technical draughtsmen they were all there in 2 sessions, finally framed, in the finished book, by the coloured and contrasting images of the building shell.

EMILBLAU/Martin Geyer: Architect, Photographer, Author. Born in Germany in 1983, I studied in Berlin and now, since 2011, live in Zurich after stops in Australia and Barcelona. In addition to my full-time job as an architect, I have produced photographic orders in the architectural and portrait sector for different customers. Every year I focus on new, independent projects.
