Mass tourism is a keyword in nowadays societies and in our patterns of consumption. Using the example of Barcelona, Density shows this phenomenon and analyse his effects in the public space.
The four-part images that form this project contains the most important part of information in the central area. This distribution wants to emphasize the three main ideas of the work.
On the one hand, it wants to underline the clone effect in the native gaze. The tourist, repeated a thousand times, doesn't exist as an autonomous entity. He or she becomes part of this anaemic mass that invades a specific part of the city.
On the other hand, we have the choreographic component of mass tourism. The sightseer believes that he's been participating in authentic experiences, though he's taking part in repetitive and plotted pilgrimages.
As a result, we observe the hermetic relationship between landscape and tourist, based on the need of the visitor to build up a lot of truly experiences without interaction with the environment.
Density tries to go over to a delimited territory where leisure and untrue experiences are guaranteed thanks to a collective ritual of contemplation called tourism.
