Baliem valley festival in Wamena, West of Papua, Indonesia. The Baliem festival is held yearly during the month of August. This is the festival to show mock battles among the tribes, the Dani, the Yali and the Lani and they send their best warrior to the arena and wearing their best regalia. The men of the tribe wear a penis gourd called a 'Koteka', and wear wild boar tusks in his nose and a flamboyant headdress, while women wearing a Noken, a traditional handmade woven bag and wear short skirts woven from orchid fibers, decorated with straw.
