Travel nominee

Buddhist monks are individuals who turn away from the usual social life, to achieve through individual and community path, their spiritual aspirations. Their everyday life is marked by precise rhythms, food requirements and disciplines to be practiced as the study, work and meditation. At the same time the monks interact with each other in relationships where the joy, the game and the complicity, are fundamental ingredients. In this project I wanted to show the more human aspect of the life of Buddhist monks and the great complicity that characterized their lives.

I was born in teramo, a small town in central Italy. My first encounter with photography was when I was 13 with a camera olympus om-1 of my father, who still jealously guards home. I started to travel outside Europe to discover Asia who fascinated me from adolescence. In 2014 with the money saved from the salary of my work, I bought a full frame camera and I traveled in Asia for 4 months. A year later the same thing happened ...
