Standing, Still (Series)
DESCRIPTION
A romanticized look at tower blocks in East London. Often associated with crime and deprived living conditions, tower blocks have come to embody the failed utopia of 70's social housing. Though their negative reputation is similar to the one carried by their continental counterpart, visually they differ substantially. Where in Europe tower blocks usually stand crammed in endless rows at the outermost boundaries of the city, in London they tend to overlook, lonely or in small groups, large green spaces, and small Victorian terraces. This series pays homage to their unnoticed beauty.
