There are good days and there are bad days. There are days when we just feel trapped by something we can't put into words.
By portraying the characters tangled in real flowers and nature itself, the pictures hint certain suffocating emotions. Yet only the real life quotes make the experienced feelings easily understandable. They make our feelings visible, when we want to stay invisible.
With this mixed media approach the pictures shall provide guideposts towards understanding, compassion and healing. Just as they did for me when I struggled with the most basic things: naming the feeling that kept me in the dark.

Switzerland-based Zsofia Daniel is a self-taught artist, who uses photography to foster harmony, understanding and meaningful connection.
Her photographs are visual metaphors of her observations of feelings, people, interactions and overarching social patterns. Her aim is to pull viewers into the subject’s world and give them the time and space to reflect on their own emotions and experience. She takes inspiration from sculptures, cinema, books, music and theatre to visualise real life stories.
Her work has been awarded an IPA 2018 Honorable Mention at the International Photography Award, further Honorable Mentions in multiple categories by the 12th Julia Margaret Cameron Award, as well as by the International Fine Art Photography Awards and a Bronze Award by the Portrait Masters.
