Conceptual nominee

This collection is about living with anxiety and mental illness. The face of anxiety is often disguised and hidden from the world. I wanted these images to represent the hidden faces and suppressed emotions which we carry around like an Albatross on our backs. Each image is a self-portrait, taken on my own whist dealing with my own personal struggles with anxiety. I developed a stutter which inhibited my speech for a while, my portraits are my way of telling people how it felt.

I’m a photographic artist from the UK.

My images feel like they emerge from somewhere deep inside, the locked away regions you only reach in dreams. I aim to create images that make you feel and think. I find inspiration fin the world around me, something that catches my eye, something I find, lyrics from a song, words from a book: The outside world connecting with my inner world.
