The death of a loved one is the most painful thing we have to face throughout our lives. It is said that it is something natural and that we must accept it, however, until we live it, we are not aware of this harsh reality. We avoid assuming the vacuum of absence and the pain of permanence at all costs.
This project is based on the 5 stages of a duel posed by the Swiss psychologist Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. (1) Denial, we deny the reality that that someone is no longer with us. (2) Anger, moments of anger and frustration for the death of a loved one and not being able to do anything to avoid it. (3) Negotiation, we feel we have the power to reverse this situation trying to negotiate with divine or supernatural entities. (4) Depression, we stop fantasizing that we can reverse this Situation and we isolate ourselves from the world to accept and learn to live without that person. (5) Acceptance, stage in which the death of the loved one is accepted and the emotional pain goes away little by little returning to our normal life.
Each of these images is intended to show a painful process that lasted 4 years and that I have finally dared to relive.
