Death Valley: a planet of colors and textures (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Death Valley National Park in California is like an entirely different planet. To most people, it is a very dry place with boring, unremarkable rocks and cracks when seen in harsh daylight. However, in the right light throughout the day and night, this desert-like place exhibits an entirely different character. It is like a gathering place for colors and textures.
AUTHOR
I am a California based pediatric neuropsychologist as well as a landscape photographer. In both my clinical and creative practices, I have found that the communication via non-verbal/visual medium is one of the most powerful and honest one. I travel around the world in pursuit of nature's visual drama. These travels have taken me through extreme conditions across the globe as I sit for days waiting patiently for that magical light or fleeting atmosphere. In the last two years, my work has been published extensively worldwide in a large variety of media including prestigious photography magazines, newspapers and various other forms of digital media including National Geographic, Outdoor Photographer, US Department of Interior and many others. Additionally, my photographs have been licensed and used by prominent television channels such as BBC, CNN, ABC, NBC and Fox. More recently, Nikon celebrated their 100th Anniversary milestone. For their centennial celebration, they included me in their “#Nikon100” program, which identified 100 photographers as rising photography stars. As per them, it is the list they have curated based on the work of photographers who have been creating inspiring work and telling amazing stories.
