Night Photography nominee

There is something so mesmerizing about standing among trees that are thousands of years old. To imagine what they have seen through their lifetime sitting upon a mountain top at 11,000 feet in the sky and looking down over the valley. This particular tree is a bristlecone pine and is almost 5,000 years old. The stories this tree could tell if only we could communicate with it, and it is surrounded by elder trees that are equally as ancient. This was taken in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in California.
