This series is the result of a collaboration between Meghan Parsons and Benny Painter. Typically photographers work alone. We decided to try something different: collaborating in every step of making this work.
We disagree about a lot of things—love is one of them. This disagreement is one reason why we made love the subject of our photos. Our diverging theories posed a challenge to us in creating photos that speak to both of our realities. As a result, these photos represent conversations, simultaneously provoking in us feelings of absurdity and familiarity.
Ultimately, these photographs are a celebration of love in all the forms it takes.
For each title, we each independently came up with one word. The format of the titles is as follows: Meghan’s Word // Benny’s Word
