After dawn ceremony, a young monk is standing on the balcony at sunshine.
His home is the far away remote cave monastery - the biggest gompa in Lungnak Valley - Phuktal. It is one of the only Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh that can still be reached only by foot.
We can see the monastery's surround, the path to the vertical 'puzzle' building with old stupas in the deep valley, and many in a row at the top of the seemingly inaccessible cliff.
