Minorities across the Land of the Free, such as my friend Aimee, live in a state of constant fear - afraid of being targeted by "peace officers". People question the existence of racial disparities, yet it is an everyday reality for millions of African Americans.
Photographs shot through glass surfaces generally utilize a polarizing filter to minimize glare. However, I intentionally included the reflection of the outside world to provide a juxtaposition and window into the darkness of incarceration.
