Exposure is a series that came about to address the way women's clothes by design often leave them exposed and vulnerable in a world that already think they are fair game for harassment. Tight skits that prevent running, high heels that impair balance, barely there clothing for "easy access." Not to mention the years of suffering though bras and other absurd undergarments. Women should be able to wear what they want and feel safe but they are currently being objectified because of things they wear. I sought to turn the tables and put men into this type of clothing and over-sexualized position so often seen in the media. Hopefully the series makes people think about some the inequalities between the way men and women are permitted to dress in society.

Robert Martien is a novice photographer specializing in the male form. Other work is definitely politically motivated generally aimed at educating and enlightening the world about LGBT people. Former careers include operations manager for a publishing company and a non-profit organization for a sum total of 30 years. Needing a creative outlet, he picked up a camera. Robert and his partner of currently reside in the Sacramento Metro area.
