Photomanipulation nominee

This series depicts the central region of Slovakia in dreamy, imaginative way. It was inspired by Slovak folk tales in which the woods are inhabited by the wide range of magical beings, especially fairies, nymphs and naiads. The aim was to capture those moments when one feels their presence in the tranquility of nature but is unable to glimpse them.

Photography and other forms of visual art have been my lifelong passion. They give me the means for expressing the things that cannot be told. The main goal of my work is to show everyday things and sceneries in new light. I try to go under the surface of the ordinary, into the world of imagination and dreams. In my abstract artworks, inspired by impressionism and surrealism, I combine the techniques of kinetic photography with the possibilities of digital post processing to show the moment of instantaneous cognition, when deeper truths are glimpsed through the crevices in our consciousness.
